Snowkite gives you the same sliding feel as kitesurf, but on snow with altitude landscapes. Two schools: the big Scandinavian adventure (endless Norwegian plateaus) or the weekend format in France (Vosges, Alps) for Belgian riders who want a taste without a 5 h flight.

The spot
Norway: Haugastol and Hardangervidda plateaus, vast featureless expanses, steady wind from the North Sea. France/Vosges: Le Ménil domain, mix of snow and ski spots, weekend format. Altitude required for reliable wind and good snow.
Wind
Norway: steady thermal wind from the fjords, ideal for long backcountry rides. France: less consistent wind, target sessions when snow + westerly flow align.
Season
December to March in Norway (short days in January, longer in March). January–March in the Vosges/Alps depending on snow cover.
Level
Norway accessible to complete beginners on some weeks. France weekend format reserved for riders with snowkite or kitesurf base. Compatible with inflatable LEI water kites.
Good to know
High-mountain gear required (–5 to –25°C). Skis or snowboard, your call. Norway is the more committed option but offers the purest experience; the Vosges are perfect for a test without a big budget.

Snowkite trip on the wide-open snowfields of Haugastol, Norway. Steady sea wind, no high mountains to disturb it: ideal conditions for long backcountry rides. Week 1 family- and beginner-friendly (Carnival school holidays). Week 2 reserved for self-sufficient riders (downloops, light-wind relaunch). Shared-room accommodation, full board, evening sauna. Week-end Snowkite Vosges — MC Kiteschool
Snowkite weekend in the Vosges, châlet in Le Ménil, 15 min from the slopes. Snowkite, ski/snowboard, snowpark, off-piste, snowshoeing: several spots depending on conditions. Beginners to experts, snowkite or kitesurf experience recommended. Châlet, 2 breakfasts, 2 packed lunches, Saturday-night fondue. Gear demo with partner brands.
